Mario Ceroli exhibition returns to Rome at 21Art
The 21Art gallery in Rome is hosting ‘Mario Ceroli {IO}’, a solo exhibition by the prominent contemporary artist. Curated by Cesare Biasini Selvaggi, the exhibition runs from October 15, 2026, to February 5, 2027.
This showcase marks Ceroli’s return to a private Roman gallery after more than twenty years. The exhibition features fifteen works, including sculptures and site-specific installations, most of which were created in 2026. Rather than a retrospective of his entire career, the collection focuses on the artist’s ongoing evolution and his relationship with Rome, a city that has influenced his work since his arrival there as a child in 1948.
The works explore themes of identity and transformation, utilizing materials such as wood, iron, and colored earth to challenge traditional notions of sculpture and monumentality.
