Mario Díaz-Balart predicts Cuban regime collapse under U.S. pressure

U.S. Representative Mario Díaz-Balart has stated that the Cuban government is facing imminent collapse within the next two and a half years due to intense economic pressure and a lack of domestic support.

Díaz-Balart highlighted that recent sanctions by the U.S. Department of the Treasury on September 3 have significantly impacted five key entities controlled by Cuban leadership, including the state oil company CUPET and Banco Exterior de Cuba. Additionally, Fidel Ernesto Castro Calis, a relative of Raúl Castro, was added to the Specially Designated Nationals list.

The congressman emphasized that the regime has lost its social legitimacy and described a widening gap between the ruling elite, which maintains significant wealth through military-run networks like GAESA, and the suffering of the general population.
