Napoli and Atalanta vie for Lazio defender Mario Gila

Serie A clubs Napoli and Atalanta are competing for Lazio centre‑back Mario Gila. Napoli has raised its offer to €15 million plus bonuses and is exploring technical add‑ons such as Lorenzo Lucca or Rafa Marín to meet Lazio’s asking price, which sits between €25‑30 million because the club must share a 50 % sell‑on fee with Real Madrid.

Atalanta entered the race with a €20 million bid, higher than Napoli’s initial proposal but still below Lazio’s target. Former Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri, now at Atalanta, has expressed interest in re‑uniting with the defender.

According to market analyst Matteo Moretto, Gila has publicly stated his preference for Napoli, saying “Gila vuole il Napoli”. The transfer remains unresolved as the clubs continue negotiations.
