Fiore stated that he began hormone therapy at age 18 and voiced opposition to the use of puberty blockers for minors, suggesting that school-based discussions on gender identity contributed to his decision.

Fabrizio Marrazzo, spokesperson for the ‘Sì Referendum Educazione affettiva nelle scuole’ committee, criticized the segment. Marrazzo argued that using a single personal testimony to delegitimize sexual and affective education in schools is a “logical leap” and an attempt to “confuse knowledge with conditioning.” He emphasized that schools should provide tools for self-knowledge and respect rather than prescribing identities.
