Mario Haas nominated as SPÖ candidate for Bad Goisern mayor

Leopold Schilcher, the current mayor of Bad Goisern, has announced that he will not seek re-election in the autumn of 2027 due to his upcoming retirement. Schilcher, who is retiring at age 65 after 45 years of work, expressed gratitude for his experiences serving the community.

The SPÖ faction has unanimously nominated Mario Haas, a state parliament member and SPÖ local party chairman, as their top candidate for the 2027 election. Haas expressed that the nomination is a great honor and stated his intention to further strengthen the high quality of life in Bad Goisern. The official election of the candidate will take place during a general membership meeting.
