Mario Hezonja Faces Possible Exit as Real Madrid Plans Roster Overhaul

Real Madrid basketball is considering major changes after a disappointing season that ended without any titles. The club’s sporting director Sergio Rodríguez has left the post, with Rudi Fernández taking over the role.

Among the players reported to be on the exit list are Chuma Okeke, Trey Lyles and David Krämer, with veteran forward Mario Hezonja also mentioned. Although Hezonja is under contract until the summer of 2029, the Spanish daily Marca suggests his stay is not guaranteed as the team prepares for the new campaign. Hezonja, who joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, posted averages of 13.3 points, 4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in this season’s EuroLeague, playing a key role in the club’s run to the Final Four in Athens.
