Mario Hezonja joins Cleveland Cavaliers training camp

Croatian forward Mario Hezonja has begun training camp with the Cleveland Cavaliers following his departure from Real Madrid. During preseason preparations in Fuengirola, Spain, Hezonja expressed his gratitude toward the Madrid organization, noting that he had previously considered retiring with the club.

Hezonja clarified that his decision to return to the NBA was not related to recent coaching changes at Real Madrid. He mentioned that the club and he were close to renewing his contract and removing his NBA exit clause, but he chose to stay during a difficult period for the team previously.

As he integrates with teammates such as Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, Hezonja aims to be a versatile and impactful player for the Cavaliers. He emphasized his desire to be a useful piece in winning games at the highest level of professional basketball.
