Mario Lemos returns as head coach of Persijap Jepara

Persijap Jepara has announced that Mario Lemos will return as head coach for the remainder of the 2026/2027 BRI Super League season. The decision follows two consecutive losses in the opening weeks of the competition under previous coach Juan Cortes.

In the management restructuring, Juan Cortes will transition to the role of technical director. The club stated on social media that this change is “not a restart, but a continuation of a long-term plan,” emphasizing a unified vision despite the shift in roles.

Persijap Jepara's recent performance included a 0-2 loss against Madura United and a 0-1 defeat to Borneo FC. Lemos, who previously served as technical director, is expected to lead the team in their upcoming match against Persib Bandung on September 20.
