Mario Oberstrass presents book on ice bathing at Frankfurt Book Fair

Mario Oberstrass, a business consultant from Villach, presented his new book, ‘Durch Kälte ein Feuer entfachen’ (Igniting a Fire Through Cold), at the Frankfurt Book Fair. The book explores the practice of ice bathing and its benefits for developing mental strength.

Drawing on his experience as a world record holder in ice bathing and two decades of leadership experience in international retail, Oberstrass uses cold exposure as a metaphor and training tool for professional resilience. He argues that the ability to remain calm and decisive during the body’s physiological stress response to cold can be applied to high-pressure business situations, such as conducting difficult management conversations.

The book provides scientific foundations, practical exercises, a 30-day challenge, and advice for beginners on how to prepare for cold water immersion.
