Mario Sauer joins 1. FC Kaiserslautern on loan from FC Toulouse

Slovakian midfielder Mario Sauer has joined the German 2. Bundesliga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern on a one-year loan from the French Ligue 1 side FC Toulouse. The deal includes an option for a permanent transfer.

The 22-year-old, who developed at MŠK Žilina, made 29 appearances for Toulouse last season, scoring one goal. Sauer has also represented the Slovakian national team, making his senior debut in March 2026.

Kaiserslautern's sporting director, Marcel Klos, described Sauer as a talented, versatile box-to-box midfielder whose running capacity and offensive capabilities align with the club's transfer strategy. Sauer expressed his enthusiasm for joining the traditional club and experiencing the stadium atmosphere.
