French director Guillaume Canet is releasing his ninth film, a thriller titled ‘Karma’, which stars his former partner Marion Cotillard. The film explores themes of cult influence, abuse, and family dynamics, centered on a character attempting to navigate a mysterious past within a secretive religious community.

During the film's Paris premiere, Marcel Canet, the son of Cotillard and Canet, drew significant attention from the public and social media. While the young boy's appearance was met with admiration online, Cotillard has expressed concerns regarding the sudden public spotlight and her desire to protect her son from intense scrutiny and judgment.

In a recent interview on TF1, Cotillard discussed her career and the film, though the segment did not achieve the highest audience rating for the program ‘Sept à huit’, which saw higher viewership during a segment on purchasing power. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on October 21, 2026.
