Marion Le Corroller releases body horror film Sanguine

French director Marion Le Corroller has released the film Sanguine, a body horror production set in a high-pressure hospital emergency department. The story follows a young medical intern, played by Mara Taquin, who struggles with a hidden illness while navigating a professional environment characterized by extreme stress and a sudden outbreak of violent pathologies among young people.

The film is noted for its spectacular visual effects and use of the body horror genre to explore the physical and psychological consequences of professional burnout. Le Corroller, drawing from her own experiences with burnout during her finance studies, joins directors Julia Ducournau and Coralie Fargeat as part of a group of French female filmmakers utilizing the genre to address social and political themes.

The cast includes Karin Viard as the department head, Sami Outalbali, and Kim Higelin. Critics have highlighted the film's technical achievements, including impressive long takes and highly developed special effects.
