Marionnaud reduces retail presence in Slovakia and Czech Republic

The luxury cosmetics retailer Marionnaud is continuing to reduce its physical retail presence in Slovakia following several years of financial losses. The brand recently closed its location in the OC Centro shopping center in Nitra, leaving only seven brick-and-mortar stores remaining in the country.

Financial reports for the Slovak operator, MIDIO, indicate significant economic challenges. Last year, the company saw a 20 percent decline in revenue and reported a loss of 2.2 million euros. The cumulative loss for the period between 2021 and 2025 has reached approximately 7 million euros.

In the Czech Republic, Marionnaud currently maintains 19 locations, though its presence in Prague has already diminished from three stores to a single location in the Palladium shopping center. Marionnaud is a subsidiary of the multinational conglomerate CK Hutchison and operates roughly 700 stores across Europe.
