Marist men's soccer defeats Saint Mary's 4-1

The Marist University men's soccer team secured their first win of the 2026 season with a 4-1 victory over Saint Mary's in Moraga, California. This match marked only the second all-time meeting between the two programs.

Marist established an early lead through Ethan Ortiz in the fifth minute. Mani Diop doubled the advantage shortly after the halftime break. Although Saint Mary's player Cameron Kobey narrowed the gap with a penalty kick in the 48th minute, Marist responded with late goals from Chris Verheul and Adrianno Iannello to seal the win.

Marist finished the match with five shots on target, while Saint Mary's recorded 11 total shots. The Red Foxes will next face the University of San Francisco on September 7th.
