Maritana Minerals begins early works at WA Black Swan gold hub

Maritana Minerals has started a 20‑week early works program at its Black Swan Processing Hub near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The scope includes earthworks, demolition, detailed engineering and procurement of long‑lead equipment to convert the existing plant to a 2.5‑million‑tonne‑per‑annum gold carbon‑in‑leach operation. Work will refurbish the crushing and grinding circuit and replace the single‑stage SAG mill with a semi‑autogenous ball‑mill crusher configuration, alongside new water‑treatment and tailings infrastructure.

The company has engaged GR Engineering Services to lead the early works and Zeal Engineering as owner’s engineer. Approximately $25 million has been allocated to de‑risk costs and schedule ahead of full construction slated for the third quarter of 2026, with first gold production targeted for the second half of 2027.
