Maritime companies announce new vessel deliveries and joint ventures

The Capital Maritime Group, through its Capital Clean Energy Carriers Corporation unit, has taken delivery of the Aristoklis, a new Suezmax crude oil tanker built by China’s New Times Shipbuilding. The vessel features dual-fuel LNG propulsion and an exhaust gas aftertreatment system to reduce emissions. It is also equipped with shore power connection capabilities that comply with California Air Resources Board requirements, allowing it to utilize onshore power infrastructure at the Port of Long Beach.

Separately, Castor Maritime Inc. has entered into a joint venture with investors arranged by Fearnley Securities AS to acquire, own, and operate the M/V Magic Starlight, a 2015-built Kamsarmax bulk carrier. Castor contributed the vessel to the venture in exchange for a 30% equity interest and $18.75 million in cash. The acquisition was funded via partner cash and an $11.5 million sustainability-linked senior term loan from a European bank.
