Maritime culture and gastronomy events announced in Riposto and Vico Equense

Various cultural and gastronomic events are scheduled in Sicily and Campania to celebrate maritime heritage and marine biodiversity.

In Riposto, the ‘Riposto Fish & Chips Mediterraneo’ event will take place on October 3 and 4. The initiative focuses on local small-scale fishing and food education, featuring tastings, cooking shows, and workshops. The project aims to promote lesser-known fish species and uses QR codes to provide digital information regarding the origin, seasonality, and nutritional value of the catch. Mayor Davide Vasta noted the event's goal is to value the city's historical connection to the sea and support the local fishing supply chain.

In Vico Equense, the ‘Pesci e Sintetizzatori’ event is set for October 4 at the Bikini terrace. This multidisciplinary project integrates contemporary art, electronic music, and underwater photography to highlight the Banco di Santa Croce, a protected biological zone located 700 meters offshore. The performance includes live synthesizer compositions by Filippo Gregoretti interacting with underwater sounds, alongside visual works by Alberto Podio and a digital installation by Giorgio Scarselli.
