Maritime events in Italy: Giant tuna caught in Amalfi and seafood festival in Giorgino
In the Amalfi Coast, a massive tuna weighing approximately 230 kilograms was caught off the coast. Due to the fish's immense size, traditional fishing equipment and manual labor were insufficient to unload it, requiring the use of a crane to safely move the specimen onto the pier in the port of Amalfi.
Meanwhile, in the fishing village of Giorgino, the 39th edition of the 'Sagra del pesce di Giorgino' saw a large turnout of residents and tourists. The event featured the preparation of over 400 kilograms of mullet, sardines, and fried seafood, marking a successful return for the traditional culinary festival.
