Maritime expert seeks MACC update on petroleum cargo report

Datuk Seri R. Jeyenderan, CEO of Maritime Network Sdn Bhd, is seeking a formal update from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding a report filed in June concerning petroleum cargo handling at Tanjung Langsat, Johor.

The report, lodged on June 5, alleges discrepancies between bills of lading and the physical movement of international petroleum cargo. Jeyenderan stated that while he has received automated emails and SMS notifications indicating the case is under ‘MACC Action’, he has yet to receive a formal written explanation regarding its current status or a final decision.

Jeyenderan emphasized that he is not seeking preferential treatment but requires clarity on whether the investigation is ongoing or has been classified as ‘No Further Action’ (NFA). He noted that the matter involves significant issues including international maritime trade documentation, customs procedures, cargo traceability, and government revenue.
