Maritime heritage highlighted by French museum exhibition and historic ship arrival

The MuMa Le Havre museum in France is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Ocean Liners 1913-1942, a Transatlantic Aesthetic’. Running from April 26 to September 21, 2025, the exhibition explores plastic works inspired by ocean liners, focusing on the transatlantic era. It highlights the historical significance of these vessels as symbols of modernity and features archives from French Lines & Cie, including details on the iconic liner Normandie.

In Bordeaux, the Dutch three-masted sailing ship L’Oosterschelde is making its first stop at the Port of the Moon. Built in 1917, the vessel is recognized as the last authentic three-masted ship from the Netherlands. The ship will remain moored in Bordeaux until September 15, 2026, with public tours scheduled for September 12 and 13. This visit serves as a precursor to the upcoming Tall Ships Race.
