Maritime Malaysia transfers critical patient from Langkawi
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (Maritime Malaysia) conducted a maritime operation to transfer a critically injured 19-year-old man from Langkawi to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar.
The patient, Muhammad Amin Shahfuwan Ahmad Zamri, had sustained serious injuries in a road accident and required more comprehensive treatment facilities than those available at Sultanah Maliha Hospital. Medical personnel stabilized the patient in the intensive care unit before the transfer, and monitoring continued throughout the journey to ensure stability.
Maritime First Admiral Romli Mustafa stated that the agency’s role includes humanitarian assistance and public safety alongside maritime enforcement and security.
