Maritime projects in Poland see tender extensions and new financing
The Maritime University of Gdynia has extended the deadline for the second tender to design and build a new training tall ship, intended to succeed the ‘Dar Młodzieży’. The new deadline for submitting and opening bids is November 23, 2026. This decision follows requests from potential contractors who require more time to analyze documentation and prepare detailed cost calculations for the project, which is estimated to be worth 350 million PLN.
In a separate maritime development, mBank and PKO BP have provided a guarantee line of up to 230 million PLN to support Remontowa Shipbuilding. This financing is dedicated to the construction of a multi-purpose rescue vessel for the Maritime Search and Rescue (SAR) Service. The project is co-financed by the European Union through the 2021–2027 Infrastructure, Climate, and Environment Fund and aims to enhance operational capabilities and maritime safety in the Baltic Sea.
