Maritime search operations reported for missing fishermen in Indonesia and Malaysia

Two separate maritime search and rescue operations involving missing fishermen have been reported in Indonesia and Malaysia.

In Indonesia, a joint SAR team located the body of 53-year-old Abdul Rachman, a fisherman from Nametek Village, Buru Regency. After a three-day search, his body was discovered by local fishermen in the waters near Wamlana Village, approximately 56 nautical miles west of the initial incident location. The SAR operation has been officially concluded following his recovery.

In Malaysia, authorities have expanded the search area to 175.4 square nautical miles following the disappearance of 32-year-old Sabrie Rusli near Pulau Tenggol. The search, now in its third day, involves 70 personnel from various agencies, including the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, the police, and the fire department. The victim is believed to have fallen into the sea after his fiberglass boat capsized while he was returning from a solo fishing trip.
