Maritime sector sees Fujairah fuel sales rebound and India tanker exports surge
Marine fuel sales in Fujairah, a major Middle Eastern bunkering hub, rebounded in July following several months of decline. Total sales reached 231,865 m3, representing a 167.2% increase from June, though volumes remained 63.8% lower than July of the previous year. The recovery was largely driven by a 314.8% surge in 380 CST VLSFO sales.
Concurrently, India reported a significant increase in tanker exports, which rose more than six-fold to USD 1.36 billion in the June quarter compared to USD 221.1 million in the same period last year. This growth reflects expanding maritime engineering and shipbuilding capabilities. The United Arab Emirates emerged as the primary destination for these exports, accounting for USD 900.8 million of the total value.
