Maritimo appoints Boat Sales Tasmania as official consultant

Maritimo has appointed Boat Sales Tasmania as its official sales consultant in Tasmania. Based at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania in Sandy Bay, Hobart, the dealership is led by Matthew and Alex Johnston, who acquired the business in May 2025.

Matthew Johnston brings extensive marine industry experience to the role, having previously served as Managing Director of Muir Windlasses Australia and Executive General Manager, Marine at TasPorts. Maritimo founder Bill Barry-Cotter noted that both companies share a commitment to Australian-made quality and innovation.

The partnership aims to introduce Maritimo’s robust motor yachts to the Tasmanian boating community, which operates in demanding Southern Ocean waters. Johnston stated that Maritimo’s shaft-drive engineering and durability make the vessels an ideal fit for Tasmania’s rugged coastline.
