Maritimo enhances luxury yacht production with S50 and advanced R&D

Maritimo, the Australian luxury yacht builder, is focusing on continuous improvement through advanced research and development and the introduction of new vessel designs like the S50.

The S50 motor yacht features a redesigned layout that differs significantly from the M50 model. Key innovations include a raised aft floor to minimize step transitions, a large lazarette with dual access points for easier storage of gear such as kayaks and dive equipment, and a patent-pending swim platform. The design emphasizes seamless transitions and improved water management through raised rubber seals.

Maritimo’s operational philosophy centers on enhancing craftsmanship with technology. The company integrates 2D and 3D design, digital scanning, and five-axis machining to achieve manufacturing tolerances within half-millimetres. According to Operations Manager Phil Candler, these technological investments are intended to complement traditional skilled composite laying and timber finishing rather than replace them.
