Maritsa Motorway expansion joint repairs begin in Haskovo

The Road Infrastructure Agency has announced the start of expansion joint repairs on two structures along the Maritsa Motorway in the Haskovo region, effective September 16.

Work will be conducted at the agricultural overpass near kilometer 109 and on the bridge over the Kalamitsa River near kilometer 110. These activities affect the lanes heading toward the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing. To facilitate the construction, traffic will be phased through the free lane, with periodic restrictions on the active and overtaking lanes.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution, follow all road signage, and adhere to a speed limit of 50 km/h. The repairs are being carried out by Infra Expert AD under a maintenance contract. Once the work in the direction of the border is complete, repairs are also planned for the joints in the direction of Haskovo. The project is expected to be finished within the current construction season.
