Maritsa Plovdiv begins training for 2026-2027 volleyball season

The Maritsa women's volleyball team has officially begun preparations for the 2026-2027 season. The championship squad held its first training session to prepare for upcoming national and European competitions.

New additions Ana Pejicic and Elena Becheva participated in the initial training alongside Alexandra Kitipova, Diyana Borisova, and Tsvetelina Petrova. Other players will join the training at a later stage due to their commitments to the Bulgarian national teams for the upcoming European Championship and U20 European qualifiers.

Club manager Boris Halachev introduced the coaching staff and outlined the team's objectives for the new season. Club president Iliya Dinkov also attended, expressing confidence in the players and the staff. The coaching staff is led by head coach Daniele Turino, with assistant coach Kriyastan Iliev, assistant coach Petko Ivanov, and statistician Stoyan Vulgev. Plamen Petrov has taken over the team's physical conditioning preparation.
