Marius Borg Høiby agrees to extended electronic monitoring at Skaugum
Marius Borg Høiby has agreed to an additional four weeks of pretrial detention under electronic monitoring at Skaugum. This decision avoids a contested court hearing and will be handled as an administrative proceeding.
The Oslo Police District requested the extension, citing a continued risk of recurrence regarding his previous offenses, which included rape and domestic abuse. Høiby has been residing at Skaugum under GPS tracking since July, having previously been held in a correctional facility before the court allowed him to serve his detention at the estate under strict conditions.
Under the current arrangement, Høiby must remain within the house or on the adjacent terrace, with exceptions granted only for work, education, medical treatment, or visiting sick family members. He is permitted three hours of daily contact with his mother, who resides in the main building. His legal team has noted that while discussions regarding release occurred, the conditions proposed by law enforcement were deemed unacceptable by Høiby.
