Marius Borg Høiby replaces legal defense team

Marius Borg Høiby has replaced his legal defense team ahead of his appeal case, which is scheduled to take place in the Borgarting Court of Appeal in February next year. His current lawyers, Petar Sekulic and Ellen Holager Andenæs, who have represented him since 2024, were informed of the decision via telephone.

Sekulic stated that the change was not unexpected and that Høiby simply wanted ‘two new pairs of eyes on the case.’ This marks the second time Høiby has changed his legal counsel; he was originally represented by Øyvind Bratlien. His new defense team for the upcoming appeal will consist of Alexander Greaker and Daniel Storrvik.

Høiby was previously sentenced in the Oslo District Court to four years in prison for two counts of rape, domestic abuse against his former partner Nora Haukland, violence, and multiple violations of restraining orders. He was acquitted of rape charges against two other women.
