Marius Borg Høiby sentenced to four years, ex‑girlfriend Nora Haukland speaks out

On 15 June 2026 an Oslo district court convicted Marius Borg Høiby, 29, the son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette‑Marit, on 34 counts, including two rapes, and sentenced him to four years in prison, a contact ban and a fine.

Norwegian influencer Nora Haukland, his 29‑year‑old ex‑girlfriend, posted a detailed Instagram statement describing the lasting trauma of the abuse. She called the verdict “a small victory” and wrote, “Der Montag fühlt sich wie ein kleiner Sieg an,” adding that she still experiences rapid heartbeat from sounds such as a slamming door or a motorcycle. Haukland urged other survivors to speak out, noting that many women face partner violence and that she received both supportive messages and threats.

A Norwegian tabloid later alleged that police secretly escorted Høiby from prison to Oslo’s Rikshospitalet so he could visit his mother after she underwent a lung transplant, a claim that remains unverified.
