Marius Borg Hoiby placed under house arrest at Skaugum

Marius Borg Hoiby, the 29‑year‑old son of Crown Princess Mette‑Marit, was released from Ila prison on 15 July and ordered to serve a four‑week term of house arrest under electronic monitoring at the royal estate Skaugum. The Oslo court approved the arrangement, allowing him to remain in a separate building on the property while wearing an electronic ankle bracelet.

Under the court‑imposed conditions, Hoiby may leave the residence only for court‑approved purposes such as work, medical treatment, or visits to family, and must obtain police permission for any short trips.
