Marius Budăi appointed head of Romanian Education Commission

Marius Budăi, the former Minister of Labor, has been appointed by the PSD to lead the Education Commission of the Chamber of Deputies. This appointment follows the departure of Mihai Alexandru Ghigiu, who moved to lead the Ministry of Investments and European Projects.

Budăi’s professional background has drawn scrutiny. Records indicate that while he held titles such as “referent, inspector, or specialty inspector” at the Botoșani General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) between 1995 and 2008, he reportedly performed the duties of a driver. Additionally, his role as “head of public procurement and administration” between 2009 and 2013 reportedly involved the duties of a warehouse keeper.

Regarding his academic background, Budăi completed high school in 1990 and obtained his bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Finance and Banking at Spiru Haret University in 2008, at the age of 36.
