Mark Boucher appointed MI Emirates head coach for ILT20

MI Emirates has appointed former South African head coach Mark Boucher as their head coach for the 2026-27 International League T20 (ILT20) season. Boucher replaces Robin Singh, who led the franchise to an ILT20 title in 2024.

Boucher brings extensive experience within the Mumbai Indians (MI) global franchise network. He previously served as head coach for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL during the 2023 and 2024 seasons and led MI New York to a Major League Cricket championship in 2025. His international coaching background includes a three-year tenure as the head coach of the South Africa national team from 2019 to 2022.

The appointment comes just ahead of the ILT20 player auction scheduled for October 1, 2026. The upcoming tournament is set to run from November 22 to December 20, 2026.
