Mark Consuelos Calls Five‑Month Lead‑up to Father’s Death ‘Brutal’

Actor Mark Consuelos revealed on the iHeartRadio podcast “I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario” that his father, Saul Consuelos, died on March 23 at age 87 after a long illness. Consuelos described the five months preceding his father’s passing as a “brutal” period, saying he prayed for a merciful exit and that his father ultimately died quickly and painlessly.

He expressed that he “misses” his dad, calling him a “mythical character” and the best man he ever met, and noted how the loss affected his family, including his wife Kelly Ripa and their three children. Ripa also paid tribute to Saul, calling him the greatest person she’s known and saying the family will miss him every day.
