Mark Cummings releases new Gloucestershire travel book

Former BBC Radio Gloucestershire presenter Mark Cummings has released a new travel guide titled ‘More Adventures in Glorious Gloucestershire’. The book serves as a follow-up to his previous work, ‘Glorious Gloucestershire’, and explores the myths, folklore, and historic rivalries of the county.

The publication covers various literary locations, natural healing traditions, and secret corners of the region. Notable figures and locations mentioned include the Slad Valley, poet Pam Ayres, and former Gloucester Rugby captain Lewis Ludlow. The book also profiles influential women connected to the area, such as Anglo-Saxon leader Aethelflaed and Edith Tolkien.

A chapter titled ‘Global Gloucestershire’ examines the county's international connections, including links to the United States through statues and historical artifacts.
