Mark Falvo appointed permanent Netball Australia CEO

Netball Australia has appointed Mark Falvo as its permanent Chief Executive Officer. Falvo has served as the organization’s interim CEO since April 2026 and is also the CEO of the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027.

Falvo brings extensive experience in sports administration, having spent over 15 years at Football Australia. His previous roles included serving as Deputy General Secretary and Chief Operating Officer, where he played a significant role in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup bid and the negotiation of equal pay and conditions for the Socceroos and Matildas.

Netball Australia Chair Liz Ellis stated that the board chose Falvo for his ability to create long-term value, his commercial capabilities, and his expertise in corporate strategy and major event legacy planning. Falvo noted that the sport is in a pivotal position due to a new five-year broadcast deal with Nine Entertainment and the upcoming home World Cup in Sydney.
