Mark Hamill celebrates 75th birthday

Actor Mark Hamill, widely recognized for his role as Luke Skywalker in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise, is celebrating his 75th birthday on September 25.

During the 2025 San Diego International Film Festival, where he received the Gregory Peck Award for outstanding cinematic achievement, Hamill honored his wife, Marilou York. The couple has been married since December 1978, having met in the mid-1970s when Marilou was working as a dental hygienist at a practice where Hamill was a patient.

Hamill described his marriage as ‘the best decision I ever made,’ noting that Marilou has supported him through the highs and lows of his career and that they share three children: Nathan, Griffin, and Chelsea.
