Mark Hamill considered retirement following Star Wars sequels
Actor Mark Hamill revealed in a recent interview with Esquire that he seriously considered retiring from acting following the conclusion of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Hamill noted that he lacked the drive he possessed during the early years of his career and was prepared to step away quietly.
His decision to continue acting was influenced by an offer from director Mike Flanagan to appear in the Netflix series ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’. Hamill played the role of Arthur Gordon Pym in the production. This role marked the beginning of a new phase in his career, leading to further projects such as ‘Masters of the Universe’ and ‘The Life of Chuck’.
