Mark Kosgey Kiptoo sets M50 world record at San Sebastián Half Marathon

Kenyan athlete Mark Kosgey Kiptoo set a new M50 world record at the San Sebastián Rural Kutxa Half Marathon, completing the 21.097-kilometer course in 1:03:57. This performance broke the previous world record of 1:06:17 by more than two minutes.

In the women's category, Maitane Melero secured victory with a time of 1:15:44. Melero, a five-time Spanish champion, took the lead around the eighth kilometer to finish ahead of Switzerland's Janice Studler, who placed second with 1:18:19, and María Lázaro, who finished third at 1:18:27.

The event saw a record participation of 5,200 runners, who competed under light rain and wet road conditions.
