Mark Magsayo faces Andres Cortes in Las Vegas lightweight bout

Former WBC featherweight champion Mark Magsayo is set to face undefeated Andres Cortes in a ten-round lightweight bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight is part of the undercard for the Ryan Garcia versus Conor Benn event.

Magsayo, 31, enters the contest with a 29-2 record following five consecutive victories. Having moved up from the featherweight and superfeatherweight divisions, he is seeking a path toward a world lightweight title shot. He is currently ranked in the top ten by the IBF, WBO, and WBC in the 135-pound class.

Cortes, 29, maintains an unbeaten professional record of 25-0 with 13 knockouts. The bout is promoted under Zuffa Boxing, a company co-founded by UFC CEO Dana White.
