Mark Marquez secures 100th Grand Prix win at Hungarian MotoGP
Spanish rider Mark Marquez won the Hungarian Grand Prix, his first MotoGP victory of the 2026 season and his 100th Grand Prix win across all classes, becoming only the third rider ever to reach that milestone. He edged teammate Pedro Acosta by 1.343 seconds after a strong comeback from a 266‑day winless streak in MotoGP.
The race began with a massive first‑lap crash that involved several riders, including championship leader Marco Bezzecchi, Jorge Martin and others, but the event continued without interruption. Marquez’s victory moves him to fifth place in the riders' standings with 108 points. The win also marks his second consecutive Hungarian GP triumph as the championship heads to the Czech round in Brno in two weeks.
