Mark Mitchell Enters Transfer Portal After NCAA Eligibility Ruling

Former Missouri Tigers forward Mark Mitchell has entered the NCAA transfer portal as a result of a U.S. District Court of Colorado preliminary injunction that grants a fifth year of eligibility to athletes from the 2022 high‑school class. The ruling applies to Mitchell, who graduated in 2021‑22 and previously played two seasons at Duke before transferring to Missouri, where he averaged 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game and shot 54.7% from the field.

Mitchell also spent the summer with the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Summer League after signing an Exhibit‑10 contract, though he went undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft. His portal entry comes as Missouri head coach Dennis Gates has a full roster for the 2026‑27 season. Mitchell joins several other high‑profile college players also taking advantage of the new eligibility rulings.
