Mark Sanchez reaches settlement in civil suit over Indianapolis fight

Former NFL quarterback and broadcaster Mark Sanchez has reached an agreement in principle to settle a civil lawsuit brought by Perry Tole, a 69-year-old truck driver. The lawsuit followed an October 2025 altercation in Indianapolis that resulted in both men being hospitalized.

Tole alleged in the suit that the attack left him ‘permanently disfigured.’ The settlement agreement, reached on October 3, also involves Fox Corp., Sanchez’s former employer at the time of the incident. Legal counsel for Tole is expected to file a motion to dismiss the case by January 8, 2027, once the settlement is finalized.

This civil agreement follows Sanchez’s decision to plead guilty in a separate criminal case related to the incident. The altercation, which occurred while Sanchez was in Indianapolis to broadcast a game for Fox Sports, led to charges including felony battery, battery resulting in bodily injury, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication.
