Mark Selby wins China Open title
Mark Selby secured his fourth China Open title and 26th career ranking title after defeating Noppon Saengkham 10-6 in Taiyuan. Despite an early 4-2 deficit in the final, Selby turned the match around by winning six consecutive frames following a critical turning point in the seventh frame.
The victory marks a significant transition for Selby, who competed in the tournament using a new cue after twenty years with his previous equipment. Although he expressed some lingering doubts regarding the feel of the new cue during training, the successful outcome has reinforced the decision to switch.
Saengkham, a qualifier, reached the final after defeating high-profile players including Judd Trump, Ronnie O'Sullivan, and Shaun Murphy. However, his run ended in the final after failing to capitalize on a chance to extend his lead to 5-2.
