Mark Wahlberg to open Municipal Gym near Las Vegas

Actor and entrepreneur Mark Wahlberg has announced the opening of his first Municipal Gym, a 32,000-square-foot facility located outside Las Vegas, scheduled for December. Speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, Wahlberg positioned the gym as an accessible alternative to high-end longevity clubs that often charge tens of thousands of dollars annually.

The facility will offer various wellness and diagnostic services, including blood work, epigenetic testing, compression therapy, cold plunges, and recovery equipment. Wahlberg aims to provide comparable diagnostic results to luxury competitors at a significantly lower price point, citing a potential $99 tier that includes physician consultations and blood work.

The gym marks an expansion of Wahlberg’s Municipal brand, which began as a sportswear line in 2020. The physical locations will also serve as retail spaces for the clothing brand. This venture follows Wahlberg’s previous involvement with F45 Training, a fitness chain that went public in 2021 before being delisted in 2023.
