Mark Zuckerberg acquires historic Strancally Castle in Ireland

Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have acquired Strancally Castle, a 19th-century neo-Gothic estate located in County Waterford, Ireland. The property spans approximately 1,500 square meters across three floors and is set within a 178-hectare estate along the Blackwater River.

While Irish public records do not list the exact sale price, local media estimates value the property between 20 and 30 million euros, though some reports suggest a figure as high as 51 million euros. A spokesperson for the couple confirmed the estate will serve as a seasonal residence, noting their intention to invest in the sustainable maintenance and embellishment of the historic property and its parklands.

The acquisition follows Zuckerberg's regular visits to Ireland, where Meta maintains its international headquarters in Dublin. To integrate into the local community, the couple has reportedly donated 150,000 euros to three local Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) sports clubs.
