Mark Zuckerberg buys Strancally Castle in Ireland for 51 million euros

Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have purchased Strancally Castle in County Waterford, Ireland, for 51,171,155 euros. The transaction, recorded on August 17, marks the most expensive residential sale in Ireland for 2026.

The neo-Gothic estate is situated along the Blackwater River and spans approximately 440 acres (178 hectares). The main residence features three floors and nearly 1,500 square meters of space, including eleven bedrooms and four suites located within its towers.

A spokesperson for the Meta founder, Brian Baker, confirmed the purchase, stating the family is eager to spend time in a country where Zuckerberg maintains a professional presence via Meta’s non-US headquarters in Dublin. The castle is intended to serve as the couple’s European base, while their primary residence remains in Palo Alto, California.
