DeFi assets AAVE and AERO see volatile market activity
Decentralized finance (DeFi) assets AAVE and AERO have experienced significant price volatility and shifts in market activity.
AAVE has seen a sharp recovery rally, surging toward $137–$145. This movement is supported by renewed demand in the DeFi segment and increased deposits in Aave V4, which reached approximately $419.8 million across five hubs by August 19. The protocol is benefiting from capital rotation into established lending markets with deep liquidity.
Aerodrome’s native token, AERO, rose approximately 19%, driven by increased on-chain capital and exchange activity. While its Total Value Locked (TVL) grew to $271.16 million, the protocol reported a Q3 2026 loss of $6.78 million, marking its largest quarterly loss since Q3 2025. Despite these earnings, user growth remains positive, with daily active users reaching over 3,200.
