Market forecasts highlight S&P 500 potential and Greek shipyard growth

Financial analysts at DZ Bank maintain an optimistic outlook for equity markets through the end of 2026. While the Euro Stoxx 50 and S&P 500 have seen significant gains since the start of the year, analyst Birgit Henseler identifies the S&P 500 as having the highest growth potential, with a projected increase of nearly 10 percent from current levels. DZ Bank sets 2026 price targets at 27,500 for the DAX, 6,700 for the Euro Stoxx 50, and 8,500 for the S&P 500.

In the maritime sector, Greek shipyards are experiencing a resurgence driven by large-scale defense projects amid a changing European security landscape. An analysis by EY-Parthenon suggests the annual revenue for Greece’s shipbuilding and repair industry could rise from approximately 197 million euros to as much as 759 million euros, potentially quadrupling its global market share. German naval shipbuilder TKMS is reportedly seeking a submarine contract as part of Greece’s ongoing armament programs.
